Arkansas WAP Application Information

The Arkansas Weatherization Assistance program is a program that aims to encourage and facilitate energy conservation in the state of Arkansas. It achieves by providing financial assistance to low-income families in the state, this financial assistance is used to facilitate the installation of insulation ceilings, duct sealings, weather stripping and caulking doors among other materials that help to conserve energy in the home.

The Arkansas WAP helps to implement energy conservation measures on both family houses and mobile houses. The different energy conservation measures installed on these houses include.

Energy Conservation Measures on Single Family and multi-family houses

  • Replacement of broken windows

  • Installation of Caulk , weather strip doors and windows

  • Installation of storm windows , thermostats and furnace tune-ups

  • The insulation of un-insulated ceilings, walls , and floors

  • Implementation of necessary health and safety measures required prior to the weatherization of the house

The measures undertaken on mobile homes include:

  • Replacement of broken windows

  • Installation of caulk, weather strip doors and windows

  • Installation of thermostats and furnace tune-ups

  • Implementation of health and safety measures required prior to weatherization

In order to be eligible for the Arkansas WAP families need to meet a set of eligibility requirements. These eligibility requirements are mainly based on the applicant’s income, residence and participation in other programs such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Aid to Families with dependent children.

Eligibility Requirements




In order to be eligible for the Arkansas WAP, applicants must meet a specified set of eligibility requirements. These eligibility requirements are mainly based on the income, area of residence and the applicant’s participatory status in other social service program.

Arkansas WAP-Income Eligibility Requirements

In order to qualify for the Arkansas WAP applicants must have an income that is either equal to or less than the specified maximum. These income eligibility requirements are based on the household size and are specified on the Arkansas WAP web page.

Arkansas WAP – Residential Eligibility Requirements

Applicants to the Arkansas WAP must be residents of the state of Arkansas and should be US Nationals or registered legal aliens. Additionally these applicants must reside in the local area from which they apply.

Participation in Other Social Service Programs

Applicants already participating in other Social Service Programs such as SSI or are receiving Aid due to dependent children are automatically eligible for the program.
