Food Stamps Application Instructions


Applying for Oklahoma Food Stamps (SNAP) benefits is easy. You will have two options to apply:

What will you need when applying

When applying for SNAP (Food Stamps) benefits in Oklahoma, you will have to make sure that you are bringing all necessary documents that the office requires. You will have to bring social security numbers, proof of income, proof of resources, copies of utility bills, and expense details.


Eligibility Requirements

To receive benefits through Oklahoma Food Stamps, one has to meet certain eligibility criteria:

  • Must be a U.S citizen or a qualified alien
  • Must be a resident of Oklahoma
  • Must meet financial requirements for the program
  • Must register for work
  • Must produce the required documents

Financial Eligibility

Those looking to receive benefits through Oklahoma Food Stamps (SNAP) will have to meet financial eligibility in addition to meeting general eligibility criteria for the program. The financial criterion is based on household size and gross monthly income.

The gross monthly income for households must be below 130% of the Federal Poverty Line (FPL). The net income (income after deductions) should be at or below 100% of the FPL. Click here to view the complete income chart.

The applicants will also have to meet resources limit to receive benefits through the Food Stamps (SNAP) program. Regular households cannot have more than $2000 in household resources but households with an elderly or disabled can have up to $3000 in resources.
