WAP Application Instructions


Applying for the Kansas WAP is a fairly easy process; all you need to do is contact your nearest Kansas WAP local agency available on this link: www.kshousingcorp.org/weatherization (Kansas WAP Local Area Offices).

At your local office you will be able to talk to a program representative, who will guide you through the application process and interview you to determine your eligibility to the program.

Upon successful completion of the application process, you will start receiving the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) benefits.


Eligibility Requirements


In order to be eligible, applicants for the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) need to meet a set of eligibility requirements. These eligibility requirements are based on the income of the applicants, area of residence and participatory status in other social service programs such as SSI. TANF and LIHEAP and are highlighted below:

Kansas WAP-Income Eligibility Requirements

Applicants for the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program need to have an income that is either equal or less than the specified income maximum depending on the household size. Kansas WAP- Residential Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the program applicants for the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) must be residents of the state of Kansas and US citizens or registered legal aliens.

Participation in Other Social Service Programs

Applicants for the Kansas Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), who are already participating in other social service programs such as SSI, TANF, and LIHEAP, are considered automatically eligible for the program. This is attributed to the fact that the eligibility requirements for these programs are quite similar to the ones required by the Kansas WAP.
