CHP+
Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) is a health insurance program for children under the age of 18, living in the state of Colorado. The program provides low-cost health coverage for the children and pregnant women that have higher income than for Medicaid eligibility but can't afford private insurance.
Colorado Works is Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
Colorado Works is Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) for the state of Colorado. The program provides temporary assistance to needy families so that they can become self-sufficient. The program provides benefits to single parents, two-parent families, pregnant women, and caretaker relatives if they meet the program requirements.
Food Stamps (SNAP)
The Colorado Food Assistance Program provides necessary assistance to families and individuals who need to buy food but don't have money for it. Qualified applicants will receive their benefits through a card (similar to debit card). Beneficiaries can use the card to purchase food items and groceries.
LIHEAP
Colorado Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP) offers assistance to low-income households with heating costs. The program pays a portion of total heating costs for such households during winter. The program is administered by your county.
Medicaid
The state of Colorado pays for insurance of eligible families through Medicaid. Families looking to receive this insurance coverage should be low income and not be able to afford insurance. The program provides its comprehensive health and medical services to families living with children, pregnant women or elderly. Families responsible for people with disabilities will also be able to enroll in the Medicaid program, provided they meet the income guidelines.
OAP
Colorado Old Age Pension program is federally funded program that is administered by the state of Colorado to provide safety net to its low income elderly residents. Ideally, if you are over the age of 65 and receiving Supplemental Security Income or Old Age Pension you are automatically eligible to receive OAP. This program has its own eligibility rules, but generally reserved for low-income seniors resident of Colorado. However, if you have dependent children under the age of 19, you may be eligible even if you do not receive SSI or OAP payments.
SSDI
Colorado residents who fulfill the eligibility criteria are entitled to Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. The program is for individuals who are unable to work due to a disability.

Colorado Unemployment Insurance program is for unemployed workers living in the state of Colorado. Such workers must have not have lost employment through their own fault. Such workers may qualify to receive temporary cash benefits through Colorado Unemployment Insurance program.
Veterans Disability
Colorado provides Veterans Disability benefits to veterans who were injured or developed a medical condition during their active military service. These benefits are given in recognition of their service. WAP
Colorado Energy Saving Partners is state's Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). The program helps eligible households with energy efficient upgrades so that household's energy costs remain low throughout the year.
WIC
Colorado WIC targets to improve health and growth in women, infants and children who are living in Colorado but are unable to afford nutrient-rich foods. The program provides its benefits through vouchers for buying food, nutrition education for helping mothers to understand relationship between nutrients and growth, and referral services to other health care programs.
