WAP Application Instructions


Applying for the Kentucky Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) is a fairly easy process. All you need to do is contact your nearest Kentucky WAP local agency. You can locate your nearest Kentucky WAP local agency by using the interactive map provided on this link: www.eere.energy.gov/state=KY (Kentucky WAP Local Agencies).

By contacting your nearest Kentucky local agency you will be able to set up an appointment with a program representative who will guide you through the application process. Upon successful completion of the application process you will start receiving the Kentucky WAP program benefits.


Eligibility Requirements


In order to qualify for the Kentucky Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), applicants need to meet a set of eligibility requirements. These eligibility requirements are based on the household income, area of residence and the applicant’s participatory status in other social service programs.

In order to be eligible for the Kentucky WAP applicants must have a household income that is either equal to or less than the specified income maximum. Kentucky Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) - Residential Eligibility Requirements

In order to qualify for the Kentucky WAP applicants must be residents of the state of Kentucky and US nationals or registered legal aliens.

Participation in other Social Service Programs

Applicants to the Kentucky WAP who are currently participating in other social service programs such as AID for families with children, SSI, TANF and LIHEAP are considered automatically eligible for the Kentucky Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). This stems from the fact that these programs share the same eligibility requirements and once an applicant is eligible for one, he or she is also eligible for the Kentucky WAP.
