WAP Application Instructions

In order to apply for Minnesota WAP, you can use any of these methods.

• Apply through mail: You can apply through mail by downloading relevant application here (www.mn.gov/commerce/energy/Household-Appl-Forms). After completing the application, you can mail it to your local WAP provider.

• Apply in person: You can also apply in person for WAP by visiting your local WAP provider. You can find your nearest WAP provider by using this link.

• Ask for an application by calling WAP: You can also have an application mailed to you directly by calling 1-800-657-3710.

Eligibility Requirements

In order to receive benefits through Minnesota WAP, you will need to meet the following requirements.

• You will have to be resident of Minnesota

• You will have to be the person responsible for paying energy costs of your household

• Your energy costs should be high compared to household income

• You must meet income eligibility guidelines for the program

Households will need to have their annual and 3-month income within these limits.

If there are more than 10 people in your household, then you can add $7,920 to your annual income to find out your income limits for WAP.
