WAP Application Instructions


To apply for Georgia WAP, you will need to follow these steps:

Contact local service agency: Contact your local service agency and fill out an application. The agency will determine your eligibility for the program to see if you qualify for benefits. To find a local service agency in your area, visit this map, and select your county from dropdown menu.

Evaluation/Audit: On meeting eligibility criteria, you will be considered for energy audit. The energy audit will determine your weatherization requirements.

Installation: Once energy audit has been completed, you will be provided necessary services and repairs. Weatherization crew will install necessary equipment to make your home energy-efficient.


Eligibility Requirements


In order to receive weatherization services through Georgia WAP, applicants will need to meet certain eligibility requirements.

  • You must be a U.S citizen or a legal alien. You will have to provide relevant proof at the time of filing an application.

  • You must be a resident of state of Georgia. You will provide proof of residence when submitting an application.

  • You must meet income qualifications for Georgia WAP or meet criteria for automatic eligibility.

Automatic eligibility

Applicants can automatically qualify for Georgia WAP if they receive benefits through any of these programs

  • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

  • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

  • Aid to Families with Dependent Children
